Principal’s Greeting

June kicks off with Grad Week. It is a momentous event in the school’s calendar and we hope that you will be able to join us for the Graduation Ceremony that starts at 1pm on Saturday June 4th. As there are 17 Grads this year the ceremony will finish at about 3.30-4pm with tea served up by the Grade 11 class and their families. The Grad Banquet starts at 6pm on Friday June 3rd at Silverton Memorial Hall followed by the dance at 8pm. Both of these two events are invitation only. The Grads will also be doing a walk through at 1.30pm with their dates on Friday so that the whole school can see how fine they look dressed in their best.

 Hidden Gallery Art Exhibition

Don’t miss the one day show of Children’s Art at the Hidden Garden Gallery on Friday, June 10th from 10 – 3.  This is a special showing of art that the children in the New Denver Preschool and Lucerne’s Kindergarten, Grade One, and Grade Two students have done this year.  Their work will delight and inspire viewers of all ages.  Diverse mediums have been used to create these pieces.  There is string art done with paints, lovely paper collages depicting spring flowers, and an array of impressions of our golden sun.  The Children’s Art show will feature an installation of felt work that will dazzle.  The Children’s Art Show at the Hidden Garden Gallery was a hit last year, the children were proud of their work and excited to host, as one child said, “my first show!”  This year’s show won’t disappoint, and everyone is cordially invited.
